Introduction
Many people approach me and often ask, what is your obsession with The Matrix?
And then they answer for me . . .
Gwell, you're wasting time on a movie, I gotta focus on my income streams and get this paper, you feel me?
It's a tragedy to watch people, especially women, bypass the MOST IMPORTANT question for being a civil adult.
We are called Human BEINGS, not Human DOINGS.
Many are obsessed with doing SOMETHING instead of being SOMEONE.
Unfortunately, they are mistaken because we can't take action (DOING) until we are AWARE and COMFORTABLE in our BEING-NESS.
So today's lecture is an outline for self-actualization and we begin with a simple question.
Does The Matrix address Mental Health?
What is Mental Health?
Mental Health is defined as a person's overall emotional and psychological condition.
How does that help us?
Where are the examples?
Where's the instructional manual?
It's been here in front of us the whole time.
Everyone in Storytelling or the Film Industry is aware of Story Structure.
And in Story Structure, there is a famous framework called the Heroic Journey.
I know it's hard to believe, but this Framework has nothing to do with Story or Structure.
It is the Spiritual Blueprint and DNA for how we should live our lives as Human Beings.
How the Ancients handled Mental Health
The modern cynical mind views the ancient world with bias, prejudice, and utter ignorance.
Some self-proclaimed genius decided to label the Framework for living a Spiritual Life as Myth, Mythos, or Mythology.
Are you serious right now?
So, let's unpack that foolishness, renew the soil, and replant the nutrients for our evolution.
Our ancestral storytellers, mislabeled by the modern cynical mind as Priests, were highly gifted in the art and craft of Story and maintaining Culture.
Today, we argue and debate about Nature and Nurture.
Those genius souls integrated both in Story:
The outer story of the Journey will showcase the Nurture Aspect of Humanity.
The inner story of the Journey will showcase the Nature Aspect of Humanity.
As a result, they told stories to the general populace for their evolution, but they visualized these stories to those seeking higher ground.
This storytelling adage has passed down to our current reality as exoteric and esoteric.
Unfortunately, the modern cynical mind labels this system as Ancient Mysteries, but these storytellers were telling the truth.
And we all know the truth is not mysterious, it SIMPLY IS because it has nothing to hide.
And if you don't remember anything, remember this.
Lies require censorship, control, illusions, and it HATES exposure.
The Truth is simple and EMBRACES exposure.
Now, let's return to our lecture, what is the Heroic Journey?
The Heroic Journey
Now that we know WHY we have the Heroic Journey, let's discuss the actual entity itself.
What is the Heroic Journey?
Why is it relevant to my life?
How can I use it to evolve as a Human Being?
Let's go deeper into these questions for clarity.
What is the Heroic Journey?
The Heroic Journey is a Psycho-spiritual Roadmap, Framework, and Exercise designed to help Humanity Explore, Evolve, and Eradicate:
It guides us to evolve our consciousness.
It guides us to evolve as Creators.
It guides us to eradicate lies, illusions, and perversions.
Why is it relevant to my life?
It is relevant because without taking the Heroic Journey, we have no protection, no peace, no positive roadmap to not only change our life (outer world), and no procedure to positively change our inner world (spiritual evolution and creativity).
How can I use it to evolve as a Human Being?
If this is too complicated, think of the Heroic Journey as the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven.
Without these keys, we will be stuck in the Wasteland.
The Wasteland
What is the Wasteland?
Let's listen to Carol Pearson explain this better than I can:
When we declare war on our true selves, we can end up feeling as thought we have lost our souls. If this goes on long enough, we are likely to become ill and have to struggle to get well. In shying away from the quest (Heroic Journey), we experience nonlife and, accordingly, we call forth less life in the culture. This is the experience of the wasteland.
When we look closely, we see there are seven phases to the Wasteland:
Rejection of our Culture
Ignorance of the Journey
Neglect of the Journey
Self-Hatred
Deterioration of the Inner World (Illness)
Acceptance of Nonlife
Actualization of the Wasteland
The seven phases are a roadmap to reveal the process of leaving our Culture (Human Being) and becoming a Machine (Nonlife/Soul-Less Entity).
How do we leave the Wasteland?
The simple answer (exoteric) is take the Heroic Journey.
The real answer (esoteric) is to use our Divine and Sacred Superpowers.
The Archetypes
Did you know Humanity has been given Super Powers?
Not some of us, all of us.
And, we wonder, what are the superpowers?
As I've said 50/11 times before, the modern cynical mind mislabeled them.
Today, we have three names for these super powers:
Collective Unconscious
Subconscious
Archetypes
Again, Carol Pearson has endowed us with her tireless research and delivers the 12 Archetypes:
Idealist - Most fulfilled when their lives are based on their deeply held values and beliefs; naturally idealistic, optimistic, and hopeful.
Realist - prioritize facing reality, most fulfilled when they anticipate problems and thus, avoid them; naturally empathetic, unpretentious, and resilient.
Warrior - most fulfilled when they can rise to and overcome a challenge, usually excited and challenged by the opportunity to prevail against the odds; naturally determined, achievement-oriented, and focused.
Caregiver - most fulfilled when they can make a difference for someone else; naturally compassionate, nurturing, and dedicated.
Seeker - most fulfilled when they can seek out new approaches and perspectives; naturally independent, authentic, and curious.
Lover - most fulfilled by building relationships; naturally appreciative, passionate, and committed.
Revolutionary - most fulfilled when they can change something that they feel needs to be changed; naturally unconventional thinkers that challenge the status quo and motivate others to think differently.
Creator - most fulfilled by seeing new ideas take shape; naturally expressive, original, and imaginative.
Sage - most fulfilled by finding the answers to great questions; naturally intelligent, knowledgeable, and reflective.
Jester - most fulfilled when they can use their ingenuity and wit; naturally playful, spontaneous, and humorous.
Magician - most fulfilled when they can see a vision realized; naturally intuitive, insightful, and inspiring; they're able to perceive and appreciate multiple perspectives and motivate others.
Ruler - most fulfilled when they can demonstrate leadership, orchestrate complex situations, and/or use their influence to make things work better; naturally confident, competent, and responsible.
People, let's lose the flowery language and think of the Archetypes as Sacred Masks.
We should wear the appropriate mask when the situation calls for it:
When your friend is having a rough day, use the Jester Mask to provide comfort.
When your family is feeling neglected and downtrodden, use the Ruler Mask to provide guidance.
When your local chapter is experiencing communal pain, use the Magician mask to give them purpose.
When your consort is off-center and hurting, use the Lover mask to provide connection.
When your children hate school and the education system, use the Sage mask and point their souls on the right path.
Using the Heroic Journey and wearing the appropriate mask allow us to create our own Sacred Space, maintain proper Mental Health, and provide guidance for others when they need to self-actualize.
Conclusion
So what does The Matrix have to do with Mental Health?
The Matrix is a Modern-Day Heroic Journey, providing us with the Proper Solutions to become our own Saviors, EJECT OURSELVES from The Matrix, and achieve FREEDOM.
This can be done in five steps:
Seek the TRUTH and the TRUTH will set us free.
Morpheus is the Voice in the Wilderness, guiding and training us to save ourselves.
Trinity is the Sacred Feminine, symbolizing the woman's womb, that provides the KISS OF LIFE for us to evolve into PURE SPIRIT.
The Oracle is our connection to the Pleroma.
Finally, Neo is the Visualized and Revealed Savior, showing us what FREEDOM LOOKS LIKE and proving that we have UNLIMITED POTENTIAL AND POSSIBILITIES.
Therefore The Matrix is ALL We NEED to self-actualize:
Taking the Heroic Journey
Wearing the proper Mask
Leaving The matrix and Enslavement
Evolving into our Divine Potential
And what's the moral of this lecture?
